Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia became a New York Times bestseller and was named one of Time's 100 Best Mystery and Thriller Books of All Time. The novel won the Locus Award and was nominated for the Bram Stoker Award, and it was selected as one of the best books of the year by publications including The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, NPR, The Washington Post, Tordotcom, Marie Claire, Vox, Mashable, Men's Health, Library Journal, and Book Riot. Set in glamorous 1950s Mexico, the story follows Noemí Taboada after she receives a frantic letter from her newly-wed cousin begging for someone to save her from a mysterious doom.
